As a US resident, If I were to pick up a Canadian resident on their soil which steps are required to be taken?

Example: Launch in Detroit, pick someone up in Windsor fish together then drop them off in Windsor and then return to the launch in Detroit.

It's been a while since I've delt with this kind of thing - however, this I know for sure - when cross into CA waters your subject to their jurisdiction, this includes fishing laws and catch limits and their custom searchs and sesure laws, when you cross back over into us waters are subject to all us law including a boarder crossing customs search of your vessel and possessions.

Both persons would have to have full documentation required to cross international boarders both directions.

I would check with US Customs and CA Customs authorties on this one -

you think it would be easy to pick a fishing partner up to waste a few hours. I check with customs on this one.

It's not about fishing, in this sense - it's about an international boarder crossing - and, as we have found out, needs to be made more secure than it has been in the past -

I emailed both of the US and Canadian customs. I have received information from Canada, heres is the link they sent.

Thank you Ferg. I am clear with the laws involved with international border crossing via personal watercraft. Your support is appreciated.
