Picked up a ground blind for my father in law to sit in this year. Was going to put it out this weekend but wondered what problems anyone has had with critters chewing on the fabric?
thanks
No problems with critters eating the fabric, but have had a lot of birds perch on the windows and playful squirrels jumping and running on the walls as well as ground squirrels peek under the bottom and come inside for a visit.
Double Bull sells a product called Ah Rats blind guard, which supposedly keeps the critters away from your blind....may be worth looking in to.

every so often I found a pile of nuts on my chair and some curious squirrels would come inches from my blind to check me out. Other than that I was left alone

My cousin went to get into his hunting shack early in the morning in the dark. As dawn came, he noticed a rustling noise. When it got light enough to see, he saw a big coon in the shack with him. I tease him about checking the shacks he hunts in from then on!!!:D

I know this is a dumb question, where would one be hunting that rats would be a serious enough problem that you would have to buy that stuff?

Farms. Rats thrive on grain farms, dairy farms, and especially pig farms. We've got em all in SW Michigan.

I left mine out from turkey hunting this Spring, mistakingly left the door unzipped about 6 inches.
Went to go pick it up about a month ago and a family of skunks was living in it.
Was actually quite comical trying to get my blind. I ended up not getting sprayed and my blind doesn't smell either. The skunks were a little surprised that there "den" was gone.

My brother left his up for a while and an opossum was living under the floor. My brother saw the "hump" in the floor, poked at it and the opossum took off running.
