I see they cut 6 days off of our season, openned of the 22nd last year. They did up our goose limit in this district to 2 a day though. Didnt cut the number of cans or redheads I know at least 1 who will be over this year!!!

Did you freelance or go with a guide? Been thinking about going but would like to pick an area and freelance.

Freelanced. I don't think I could help you too much. Was back in the 80's, a few things have changed. Went downriver along the many islands. Tossed out some blocks and had our way with late season divers. Was a house blind built on a gravel bar that would hide my boat.
The regs changed to you had to hunt so many meters from this and that. The guy didn't build it again. Kept getting burnt down. I think with a good camo job on his boat a guy might do well! My youngest has expressed an interest in hunting big water. I might just hook him up!;) I really enjoy watching my boys roll some birds.:D

Thanks, in thinking about it I should start with the firearm laws of Canada. I have read a few posts about their laws but never checked into what is needed.

Just more filling of paper work and an added cost. I'm not sure if you don't go ashore. We'll have to check on all the regs.

You know i meant you!!! I see my deer hunting area opens the 21st of sept. for waterfowl,, It would be worth the trip just to hunt the teal in the swamps and beaverponds on the property. And the lake will have huge numbers of divers in it. Ducks in the morning and antlers in the afternoon, sounds good to me!

If you guys want to find some local areas to hunt, I can help you out. I wont give you my honeyhole's, but I can point you in the right direction. Late season you pretty much have pick of the litter! Just have to watch for private property and hunt club stakes(they are a pain in the a**)

Canadian Hunter,

Can'nt ask for more than that. How about pointing to a site with information on how to bring my shotguns into Canada. I will be putting the search engines to work as well.

Dead Bird,

If you are talking about a group from this site count me in. What details need to be done?

:) Ronduea Bay is about 1hour from the bridge in Port Huron...

I used to hunt with a bunch of guys from the Teutonia (sp) Club in Windsor

It was a lottery system for the opener than a first come first serve after that.... we used to sleep in our cars to get a good draw the next day..

I'll look into the details... alot dirds... good time... I'll start getting details together...

If someone has a better suggestion I'm open to that... just want to start hunting across the creek again...

Have you guys heard of this place? Havent been there in years, but friends have always had good hunts the last couple years. From what I remember you parked at one of the 60 stakes and that claims your area, no fee's. I believe there is even some flooded timber in there too hunt.

Firetiger..

Never hunted there ... checked out the website... sounds like the same set up as Roudeau...

It sounds like a good place.. do have any detailed info on the area..

I'm sure of one thing I don't want to be sitting at home and thinking about why I didn't even give it a shot..

I'm trying to get the details together for Roundeau... sounds like you have to go up the week before the opener for a drawing for the opener... at least you will know if you have a place to hunt..

Canadian Hunter,

Checked out the website, it sure looks good, so I don't care where we hunt. Ducks in the morning and ducks the rest of the day works for me.

Dead bird just click on the little symbol(bottom of theyre message) that says PM to whoever you want to send a message too. I'm leaving the 6th for a week to do some work at the deer camp., and actually take a vacation up there.LOL.

I was talking with Tiger earlier, Im open to anything, possibly even openning deer camp for the last weekend of sept to hunt fowl for a couple days. It would be a long trip, but everything is there, could hunt puddlers in the ponds and divers off the deck of the cottage(seriously), geese are everywhere. Also a good pop. of grouse on the property.
