Well there is very little open water mostly ice in upstream parts.At the mouth the river will yield a few steelhead and browns,bottom bounceing minnows works best.Ice is in St. Clair rver depending on wind.Call Pro Bait at 810 984 3232 for daily reports.

Way to cold to fish on river for most.Last year the end of Jan. was hot. for steelies.

Hey there trout! Have you tried where Mill Creek runs into the Black yet?

We need to get out there soon.I might sneak out there this coming week.

I live in sanilac Co. and often wonder how the steelies are on the black. If you have any luck or advise I'd be pleased to listen. Good Luck

Now is the time and till end of april.
Try useing spinners and fish the many holes.
