St Joe or Manistee

Going somewhere fishing for two days and dont know where to go. I have a 16' bayliner with no trim, would the river in manistee have low spots? (just in case the waves are to high on lake mi). I've been out twice to st joe and went 1 -4. new to this salmon fishing, but dang it i'm getting something this weekend. lol. any info would be very helpful.

The winds are suppose to turn to the north Wed so this will bring alot of fish in close. I would go to Manistee and fish around the pier heads. You can even fish in Manistee lake over in front of the little river if it gets to windy! Good Luck!!

Well manistee might be a little better fishing but either place if you get out early enough. Before light you should have success!!! Went 8 for 12 out of the Joe on saturday but it was rough!!!!!

If you are coming to St. Joe, here is a link for a local bait shop that I would suggest. http://www.tacklehaven.com/ the river is still flying high and dirty, but it is coming down a little. Fishing has been good, get out early mud line out to 85 foot has been good. Two ramps to choose from. PM me and I can give you the scoop on those. We all know how good it can be in Manistee this year too. I guess I am a little spoiled because I live in SJ.;)

whats a good setup i have two downrigger 6 rod holders and on rod with 5 colors leadcore

Out of SJ for me it has been plugs, plugs, plugs, plugs on everything!

Okay, i know st. joe a lot better than manistee, so i'm going to st joe. mark what color plugs are working the best? I'm going to pick up some tonite. i only have 2-3 plugs. what speed are you trolling at on the gps?
