marc, most days he does outfish me. but only because i let him LOL:eek:

honestly when i am with him i focus more on getting him into fish than i do on catching them myself. though at times it does get very disturbing, especially when i know i am working a school of fish. when i have to constantly either quit reeling in my line, or hurry and reel it in to help him with yet another one. though disturbing i dont think i would rather do that for anyone else out there. and i never get upset about doing it for him. of course there was the time when we had a double on and it was trying to reel mine in and help him at the same time. oh well, at least he is learning (i hope :))

the bad thing is i see alot of me in him, the impatient part, if he is not catching fish he gets upset (sound familiar ralf???). then i try to tell him that it is not always about catching fish, but just being there and able to fish that is the best part. and of course i give him the ol' pay your dues speech, and then think of how many times i have heard that from my dad and all the guys on this site that i have fished with. really makes me think at time!!

Sean, I know what you're saying about letting the little ones reel them in. If you were to ask my daughter about our last time on the water, she'd say: Brooke 23...Dad 0

I get more enjoyment out of watching them reel fish in.
