Whats doing this to my yard????

Just got a call from a friend who drove past our property and he said the lawn was a total mess!!!! Because of little rain this year the lawn was dried up and last month we started to notice that something was messing with the lawn. It looked like something was going around the yard peeling the sod back and leaving it sitting in clumps on top of the lawn. Could it be coons? I have seen a mom and little ones around the apple tree in the yard every time im up there. I get the feeling that it’s an animal pulling the loose sod out looking for bugs but I don’t really know. Any ideas?

I caught skunks ripping up my lawn a couple of years ago getting the grubs out of the soil at my house.

My bet is skunks ,I have the same thing going on .One even came up on the steps to eat cat food the other night.Good luck getting rid of them!!!

I'll third skunks. They tore up my bosses lawn a few years back looking for grubs as well.

I would also say skunk, they seem to do that alot, looking for grubs and such.

If your yard is tore up in big patches i would say someones hogs have gotten out.


If it isnt big patches its probably skunks.
