I really want to access the tressel! I tried to get there from the Whirlpool but it's a long haul for the boat setup that I am using(16ft aluminum, 25hp motor,) My question is: Is that launch at river rd open for the public or what? I have never seen a sole in that parking lot and that appears to be the best launch for the lower river.
Here's another question: Without getting a ticket for trespassing and not walking more than a mile is there a way to get there by foot? I have been down there before but I was just asking for a ticket!!!
If you know of a way to get there by foot and don't want to say it to the public please email me!

Hey Weez. The tressle can be accessed by parking by the tracks and walking in. Please note: I have recently heard about some guys getting a ticket for tresspassing in there. Those guys were snagging. The property down-stream of it is private and belongs to the newly built subdivision. I would try to launch at River Rd. They used to charge, but from what believe, it's vacant. I wouldn't worry about it. Watch it it's very shallow. From there it's less than a mile. There's another launch, owned by the county on the west (south) side of the river, just up-stream from Charbenneau's.
Hope that helped.
Hey weezer, I always launch at the store on river road by town. They used to charge you $4.00, but lately there hasn't been anyone or anywhere to leave the money with, so I guess that makes it free, at least for now anyways. Its kind of a run down launch but it works fine for me and my boat. Takes about five minutes to run up from there. When you launch, go straight to the far side of the river before you try and head up river. Theres a big sand bar in front of the canoe livery. You'll see it.
I'll be there monday afternoon, maybe into tues and wednesday also, depends on how good the fishing is. Staying in the back of my pickup and I'll have my boat with me. If you want you can look me up.
