Fished Stoney today from 9:00 to 1:00 with 1 bass about 16" on a crawler harness fishing for walleye. The lake is getting weed infested all the way down to the north dam. No walleye today but will hit the pond tomarrow.

I fished stoney today for about 3 hrs and got the skunk. That was my firt time fishing stoney from a boat. Do you normally target walleye trolling? I tried tolling a crawler harness but wasnt sure if i was doing it right. Should I be using a bottom bouncer? thanks for all of the help. -craig-
Stony has lots of fish in it, they all feed for 3.25 minutes a day, right after the park closes.

The one posted or the let's shut down early.
I think Stoney is on bar time. 9:30 closing time, but I thought the park closes at 10:00. Not tonight, No fish for you!!!

Stoney does close at 10pm. They go around on the load speaker leting everyone one know it's closing time. Some people are completely in their own little world and don't realize the park CLOSES at 10pm. 10 pm is not the time to START packing up to leave. The employees would like to leave on time too to get home to their families.

Just a joke Mike. I spend a lot of time at the park with my family and we thoroughly enjoy it. Although, I have been told on a couple of occasions that the park is closing and it's only 9:30. I was sitting with my dog on the bench by the boat launch.

Walleye Mike: Thanks for the respond and glad to see that someone understands that they are just telling you the park closes at 10:00. As you may no I work there and we do have have people who work till 10:00 there. What some people don,t understand is the rangers come around telling them the park will close at 10:00 and you are right when you say that doesn,t mean to pack up at 10:00 like alot of them do.
Also if I may add if there are some of you that think that the rangers throw you out to early call and make a complaint and they will get there butts chewed out for it. Call 586-781-4242 or 1-800-477-7756 or just walk in to the office.
Mike by the way they are going to spray the lake to kill the weeds shortly. They were talking today about it so will keep you posted.
I am not sticking up for the park or rangers cause I work there but I do enjoy keeping the park clean for other people can enjoy it as much as I do.
And if I can help anyone on the site with anything please contact me and I will try my best.

I know the rangers probably have to check each and every picnic area and parking lot. That takes time. They have to start a little early. Just think what would happen if they didn't make an anouncement and just went ahead and locked the gates at 10 pm. Those people would have a ***** fit because they are locked in and yet these are the same people who dilly dally around to right at 10pm. I would love to have the park open longer hours for more chance at night fishing , but it isn't going to happen.
Mike, less weeds would be great. Especially when trolling from Eastpointe beach to the north damn.
