Raccoon in the Chimney!!

My parents called me a few weeks ago and said they had a coon on the roof and it went down the chimney. They told me they thought it was stuck in the chimney because they could hear it in the basement. They asked me to take a look for them. I opened the chimney clean out in the basement and had 4 baby coons looking at me! The mother was gone so I grabbed the babys and took them across the street and threw them out in the woods. Problem solved I thought. The next morning she had found 2 of them and had them right back in the chimney.:rant: I thought she would leave on her own but she is still there. Yesterday I decided to try to evict them for good. I set a 160 connibear in the chimney opening. Checked today but she decided to stay home last night. Good thing for her.:lol:

Hunter, put a rag doused with ammonia on it and place it on a rope down the chimney. This effects any critters with nite vision, hurts their eyes, and they will leave.

I just read your response. A little too late. I caught her on the second night. The chimney really stunk bad from urine. I didn't want to take any chances of the chimney being her yearly den site.
