View Full Version : Looking for a wife bow

I'm looking to get a bow for my wife. We've looked at some already, specifically the Browning Micro Midas and the Diamond Edge. I don't think buying a brand new bow for her at first is a smart idea, so I'd like to find a used one for her till she decides if archery is her thing.
Her draw length is 23 or 24 in. (two different measurements by archery techs.) She was able to draw 24 lbs. with the Edge, although I'm sure she will rapidly increase her draw weight after some building up of muscles.
So, anyone out there have a decent used bow package in this draw length/weight range your child or wife used to get started and doesn't need anymore? E-mail or PM me if you have something, I would appreciate it.

Never mind folks, I took my wife to Jay's in Gaylord to look at some bows and shoot them, and guess what! She's now the owner of a brand new Diamond "The Edge" package w/ 1/2 doz. Beemon ICS Hunter Jr's and a True Fire X-Caliper Jr release.
It is her birthday after all!
Her first group!

Her form is coming along, she just needs to relax and straighten her body.

Sir, do you mean the bow looks like it's too short in D/L? Or that she's not drawing it far enough? I am not sure, but she may not be pulling the bow to full draw. I should probably have her take a pic of me drawing the bow and see how far the cams are rolled over. They don't look fully rolled over in the pic, but I don't know for certain.
The nice thing about these bows is they are easily adjustable for D/L without a press.
I'm trying to just get her started till she feels comfortable shooting, and then work more on form and making any adjustments.

No the cams dont look like they are rolled all tthe way over, with that and looking at the way she is leaning back would suggest that the draw length on the bow is on the long side, at least thats the way I see it.

Well....why wouldn't they have set her up properly with the right draw length??
Let me guess.....that's the only one they had in stock and tried to make the bow fit her instead of getting her fit to the bow.

The draw length on the Diamond edge is adjustable from 18-28 inches. So they should have been able to set it up properly. But if she is new to the game she might not have the proper form yet. Just my 2 cents.
