I just sold my winchester 1300 to my friend he wasnts to use it deer hunting and was woundering what choke he should use.He asked me but i have no clue. The gun has the win choke system. I was just woundering if any one new what choke tub to use or if there is a special slug choke. thanks

I use Improved Cylinder, and I also used a skeet choke once by accident:). I'd get on Winchester's website and see if they have any info on it. I personally would be hesitante to use a mod choke. It might be fine, but I don't know.

Most time's the imp.choke is best.He would be far better off getting a slug barrel for it.

What kind of slug does he plan on using? With a smooth bore the old "foster" style $2 a box jobs would be the ticket. If they want to shoot the sabot types then get a rifled bbl or at least a rifled choke and then let the gun tell him what it likes.
