Hi,

We make the tiny (20.5" axle to axle) Liberty I bow and are interested in
bowhunters impressions.
Liberty Archery has sold 976 bows, and the customers are more than happy.

Presently Liberty Archery does not have any ProStaff. Can anyone tell me
what is in the Prostaff contract from other bow manufacturers?

The bow's extreme departure from the normal commonly brings up fears
and predjuces, which are difficult to deal with.

Any suggestions or comments would be welcome.

Last I heard (granted probably 2005 or so) there were issues with the sight mount breaking?

I can't speak for "bowhunters" but my take is...no riser and extremely suceptible to torquing.

Kelly,
The sight bar is thicker, no more problems.
33 improvements since 2005--listed on website spec page.
Customers love the bow, it is just hard to get more of them.
Considering prostaff.
Increased advertizing this fall by 320% so far not impresive.
A Petersons Bowhunting report by Jon Silk will be out in Oct.
On archerytalk one guy said it was to expensive.
I replied:
"
Where I find difficulty is in comparing features.
What more would I pay for a very light bow.
When I started designing this thing I was loving
the lightweight carbon fiber bows that were very
expensive.
Of course my desires are different than yours, but
my dream bow was to be lighter, smaller, and hopefully
faster.
I am more accurate with this bow than any I have owned.
Testimonials say the same.
So:
Lighter--worth more?
More accurate--worth more?
Smaller--worth more?
Just as fast---
High letoff (10.5 lb hold on 70 lb bow)---worth more?'

just some thoughts

Good to hear.
"More accurate" is pretty difficult to quantify though isn't it?;)

Kelly,
Once a week I get a call or a warranty
card return with comments on it that tout accuracy
What am I to believe, are these people subject to pride of ownership,
is that what makes them say it?
One guy from St cloud MN got a triple robinHood, a Dentist called me
at 7 pm and said he just got all 6 arrows touching at 20 yards.
Adriaan Rall, editor of African Bowhunter is shooting 4" groups at 90
meters. Don Howard of Lemmies Archery in NY won 3 tournaments
with it. Prostaffers and store owners privately shoot my bow, and
sell other bows instead (they sell what has the most advertizing)
You can read the comments for yourself, it is on the website.
I scanned in the back of the warranty card so it is in their handwriting.

I never anticipated when designing this bow that it would be more
accurate, I thought it would be less accuate because of the short
AA.

Maybe it is pride of ownership, although it is such sweet music
to my ears, making me prey to faslehoods.

As an avid archer/bowhunter its hard to take the finaincial plunge on a new company with a short performance history. Price point may swing more people your way. Breaking into this industry is very hard to do. I have shot the liberty and enjoyed it. Its a sweet little bow. I found the restrictive draw length adjustment to be one of the big reasons I didnt consider it. I typically shoot a new bow every year and that substantially restricts the resale value. If you were to provide an adjustable cam or at least a reasonably priced swap system that might help and I would take another look. If you could get a little more speed out of them that would likely increase sales as well. Are the steel cables essential to the performance of this bow?

New bow every year and I built a bow to enjoy for a lifetime, stupid me.
We allow 4.5 grains per pound, should bring IBO speed of 308 up some.
We have one archery shop that sold 48 bows last year who stopped
pushing the Liberty I. His words "once I sell a Liberty, I can forget selling
that customer another bow. By the way, he shoots a Liberty.

Four stores I called that had ordered one Liberty bow---the owner shoots
it as his personal bow, they told me they LOVE it, but do you think they
would hang it in the store and sell them ,NO. They sell well advertized bows. Poor me
