i'll take my best shot at this.......this lake was great in the 60's and early 70's, but like lots of other easily accessible eastern upper peninsula lakes it got fished hard! late 70's and 80's fish were hard to come by, thanks to DNR and plants it is supposed to b coming back ..i fished it twice recently, albeit with limited success. the lake has a great many species, most running smallish..the lake itself is fairly shallow so all the fish are within range all the time, weeds can be a problem sometimes, but this year with the late spring i think ur safe..i prefer the south side of the lake, had my best luck on silver bodied crankbaits tadpollys rapalas flatfish, etc. You might try the 'night bite' for eyes, they seem to feed a little more aggressively then. if you aare pulling your own boat up there, the great thing is you have many other options quite close, if you don't find the fish in Gulliver...good fishin, best of luck...

I fished Guliver lake twice last week with a group of three boats. I am not sure witch species you are wondering about so I will tell you about all of them we fished for. Walleye- we talked to a local that said the usually does well drifting for them. Of course we were excited and decided to give it a try both evenings. Total walleye boated by us and the seemingly knowledgable local.... Zero. not one.
now on to some better news. Pike- There are alot of them and they all seemed rather hungry. the most effective way to catch them was to cast a deep diving crank bait in 8 to 18' of water over weeds. In two days my boat landed close to 40 pike, and not all our time was spent on pike.

Small mouth- the smallie fishing was good at gulliver. and water 6' to 2' with large rocks. We caucht them on slow plactics and top water. they averaged 16" with some well over that.

Another tip for guliver, when you arive to the public launch cast a couple of times. i caught two pike before launching my boat, one each day, and a smallmouth at lunch one day.

I also fished;

Muskellouge Lake
Blind Sucker Flooding
Bass Lake
Tequamenaw River

If you are interrested in driving for a little bit

Hopes this helps,

Eric

Don't give up on the walleyes! By buddy just got back three days ago and they limited out in two hours on walleyes. I can't be specific on the lure but he used a rapalla and used the same lure for the whole trip, catching walleyes, pike (not hammer handles either) and smallies. He hits this lake at least once a year and this was the best in a looong time. Good luck!
