Ok. I had to run in to town, and when I got back, there was a rabbit stuck in my pier net.The head of the rabbit was stuck in one of the loops. Needless to say, my pier net has a big hole in it after they cut it to get the rabbit out. Is there any good way to repair a net. I'm going to tie the hole shut with fireline because I need it in the the morning (hopefully!) Is there a better way to fix it? Thanks.

I tied overhand knots in the ends of the broken threads and then used heat shrink tubing to link them back together. When shrunk over the knots it locked in place. But my net hole was small musky sized, not rabbit sized.

I took the spot where the hole was and bunched it all together and wrapped it up tight with fireline. Then I wrapped half a role of electrical tape around it. Should be fine. I didn't need it this morning anyways.

I think I would have chopped up the rabbit and not the net...

My girl a mini animal rights activist. She would have hated me for the rest of her life.

look on the internet for "net mending". It's really not that hard to rebuild the broken meshes. I use 100# string. . .don't really remember the name of the stuff (maybe "super strong"), but it's green with a tar coating. The label had a dude flexing on it.
good luck.

I hope the native americans don't get any ideas on this. I would hate to see the rabbit hunters losing there beagles in the nets.
