Is it possible to get the inserts out of a carbon arrow? If so how do you do it with out ruining the arrow?
Thanks. Hank

Step one: Remove nock from end of arrow
Step two: Find drill bit that just fits nice and loose in the shaft and put her in.
Step Three: Grab the tail end of the arrow, raise it over your head, and snap that sumbiatch down as hard as you can.

The force of the drill bit going from the tail end down to the insert should break the bond of the glue and a few more swipes should get the insert out. This is the method I use and if you're using ICS styled carbon arrows it'll work...the very thing walled carbons used for 3d shooting will not work as it seems that the glue bond likes to take some of the inner carbon wraps out with the insert.

unscrew the field point alittle and heat it up, and then pull it out. Try not to heat to much so the carbon get's hot.

I tried that and I couln't get that to work, I don't know what I was doing wrong. But I will tell you my arm hurt after that:lol:

Gotta make sure the drill bit is at the tail end so when you snap it down it travels the full length of the shaft. You gotta snap it like a curve ball.

Here we go again with the old "get the insert out of the shaft" routine. Who is for heating and who's for the drill bit?!:D

I could not use the drill bit had inserts at both ends. Just put a little heat on it like camo boy said it came right out shaft looks fine. Thanks every body. Hank

I heat up an insert removing tool. Thread in the insert tool and keep spinning and pulling until it comes out. Don't use too much heat, start out slow. I like the handle on these tools over pliers and an insert.
