Anyone know where I can get the bracket that attaches to the trailer for my transom saver? Somehow lost mine yesterday on the way home, and would prefer not to buy the whole thing.

Mine is the type that has a bracket that bolts to the trailer. Somehow the darn thing broke off yesterday. Here is the one I have:

http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/links/link.jsp?id=0001894011012a&type=product&cmCat=search&returnPage=search-results1.jsp&QueryText=transom+saver&N=4887&Ntk=Products&Ntx=mode+matchall&Nty=1&Ntt=transom+saver&noImage=0

I don't have a roller at the back in the right position to attach to.

Is that a u-tab with a locking pin or does the support rod stay attached to the trailer? I just pitched the mounting stuff that came with the one I bought. I fabed and welded up a u-tab on my trailer. Might be cheaper to buy another one if its a unique bracket, other wise Id just make one up and weld it on this time.

Bill, I don't think that one will work, my boat sticks out a bit too far to reach the roller. The shaft on mine is bent so it can go under the trailer.

Craig, I mine didn't have a locking pin. Instead it has a flat spot that is wider than the shaft diameter about 1" from the end. The plate had a round hole, with a slot wider than the hole running vertical. You put the part that supports the motor in the hole past the flat, rotate 90 degree, and the flat keeps it from coming out. I have just enough cabela's points to get one, so I'll probably run down there and pick one up.

I have a guy who can fab me a spare, once I have one to use as a pattern.

Well, I went down to Cabelas and bought a new one. Reading the instructions, it says to insert into the slot in the roller bracket. New one fit, but the old one was a tad too wide. Quick touch up of the bracket on the dremel and the old one goes in fine and worked for me yesterday. Back to Cabela's to return the new one this weekend.

I saw this too late. I have one I am not using and I would have sold it to you for twenty bucks.
