Even though most of us buy our hunting gear from more than one retailer:
On average, which of the following would you say that you spend the most at each year?

You forgot to list "My wife" as an option:lol:
Otherwise it would be Cabela's.

had to have the wife read this, i have not seen a paycheck in 5 years. with direct deposit she gets the money and than i have to wonder.
for the most part i spend alot of money up at hilltop just east of greenville. but when i go to buy my guns most time i am at gander mountian for the saving are large and i will buy two guns at a time. so a few hundred in saving does add up each year

I chose online purchases, not neccessarily Sportsman's Guide, but just in general. I find most of my stuff pretty dang cheap online compared to Cabela's etc.
This year I've used quite a few companies including Shyda's, Duluth Pack, Keystone Country Store, Cumberlands Northwest Trapping, Minnesota Brand Trapping, eBay, Bowhunters Superstore and a few tiny places throughout Michigan. I do order through Cabela's, BPS and shop at both of them and Jay's and Mackinaw Outfitters here and there when I'm in the area. With gas prices the way the are though, it's cheaper to have it shipped than to drive 25-350 miles in an F-150 to an outdoors store. Plus, you don't pay the sales tax when ordering from out of state!!!
P.S. Guns Galore for my guns and Schupach's or Van's for archery sometimes too. Can't forget Frank's too when passing through!

If I were to sign one of my paychecks the bank would probably not cash it thinking the signature was forged.

I'm not sure if I get a paycheck either:(. I don't really make any purchases that cost me "money" though. I use my Cabela's Visa for EVERYTHING,,, from a pack of gum to the .82 cents I spent on potatoes and onions at Randazzo's today,,, if they don't take VISA,, I go somewhere else. All my charges on that card build up Cabela's Points/ cash at Cabela's. I use the points I build up for all my hunting and fishing gear,,, usually don't spend a dime outta my own pocket all year for gear.
Gander comes first on my list, because they are closest to home, and half of my wardrobe seems to come from there. Bass Pro second, Lakeside Fishing Shop third, Cabelas and Jays fourth, depends upon which direction I am traveling.

Over the past year I've spent the most money at Kent Arms (new bow and accessories), Hilltop Sports, Goldstar Sports, Midwest Turkey Supply and then Cabelas. ( I just got a new scent lok suit from Cabela's, paid for it with my Cabela bucks!) I've also purchased from Bass Pro Shops and Walmart over the past year (minimal)
Just remembered I spent some money at the 'Huntin Time Expo" (Gander Mountain, A-Way Hunting booth ,and some other small independant place). D&R sporting goods (2 tree stands on sale)

So, when should I expect my bill for all my online purchases? Might keep me of ebay for a while if this hits the mailbox:sad:

It's always been on your tax forms, but who ever claims it. Also, I can't find anything that shows she'll be sending out bills and I'm not that worried about it. They sure as heck can't keep up with all of the internet sales made by Michigan residents (even though they did it with the tobacco orders, but that's small medicine compared to say all the Cabela's orders coming into Michigan everyday).....but, if I ever get a bill for $6, I'll probably just throw it out and move on. They can dock my stupid MI income tax if they want it that bad. Either way, it's cheaper to order than driving from the Soo to either Mackinaw City or Gaylord say for a $30 Scent Lok Head Cover!
Jenny needs to be deported before everyone moves out of State! This isn't Ontario Jenny! Keep your stupid taxes on your side of the ditch!
She'll probably have a GST, PST, HST, MVP, PPP, OPP......etc. tax pretty soon!

Now that you say this. I wonder how much money they are wasting just by tracking it down.?? Just a thought.;) Oh, and alot of my stuff is at Cabela's. It's expensive, but they usually have what I need. I do however shop for certain things at Dick's sporting goods and such as well. (Hint....CHEAP TREESTANDS!!)

I must say I'm pretty surprised that a couple of you actually chose the general big box stores. I put it in there as an option, but I wasn't really anticipating on anybody choosing it.

Depending on what I need, if I need Archery equipment I go to Hog Wild, if I need camo I go to Cabela's or Gander Mt., If I need hang gun ammo I go to firingline, If I need shot gun ammo I go to Gander Mt. or my Dad's.
I prefer to get as much stuff from mom and pop shops but that doesn't always happen.
But alot of my paycheck goes to Wal-Mart Since my wife works there I get a discount, not just on hunting and fishing stuff (if you no what I mean).

online if they are cheaper than Cabelas.
Its tough to pick because small local stores MJC in Royal Oak have got large $ purchases bows, arrows but quanity of purchases would be Cabelas for hunting items, Bass Pro for fishing items. I went with cabelas

I chose other because I spend at all those places. Where ever they have what I need for a good price is where I go. I tend more towards the smaller places for service and internet is usually last resort if I cant find locally.
Wife is a close second for money spent,:D

if i am buying for an upcoming season, or restocking from a trip then i will stop at Cabela's on my way home from work.
if it is 2 a.m., and i am low on hooks or out of a certain # of line, or need a grunt call or new camo hat, then i go to Wal-Mart. i drive by Meijer's to do so, but if i can get the EXACT same product for less $$$, well.... do the math.
besides, Wal-Mart has 10X the hunting and fishing gear Meijer's will ever have here in Monroe. you would think they would get the hint.......
