I would like to announce that our O.P.P. friends are doing a bang up job on the fight against terror! They brought down a VERY dangerous person, who was doing something unspeakable on the river! That someone is me!!!! and I had an adult beverage in a coozy 10 feet away from me!!!!! feewwww, that was close!! glad they saved the day. Did not care if I had minnows, or a Canadian fishing license. I got patted down too..... That's alot of fun, you should try it. The worst thing of all, They took all the rest of my beer:yikes:. They didn't leave me with nothing though..... they were kind enough to reward me with this little piece of paper that said something about $130.00......

Thanks for the tips on the fish Miketheelder, and Houghtonlaker..... Hope you finished up better than I did. Forgive me, but i'm feeling a little patriotic..... OH CANADA, something something something something.

Saw them cruising the waters up by Peche Island around 7:30 or so Sunday morning. Looking for home-grown terrorists, eh?;);)

Hey could be worse , lucky you only got a $120 ticket . I see nothing wrong with a brewski on a nice day but if your out on your boat and suckin down some alchoholic beverages that can be pretty dangerous . Just be careful out there and keep an eye out for water pigs !!!! happy fishin .

I haven't seen any reports from you lately Mushy.

I caught three Sunday right where I showed Matt. I saw the Windsor Police boat out there also. When I made a move to go back over a spot I ended up heading right towards them. I guess they figured one guy in a little 16 footer heading right for them wasn't a threat to national security.

They took off downriver. Guess the came back.

The beer store was closed and they got thirsty out on the water. before they got back in they were probably just empty cans.:lol: hope you gave them enough so they would not have to get someone else.

I'm not so sure about that Chris... He caught fish in 2 of the 3 places he tried...... I sucked all morning only catching a couple perch and a huge catfish. My entire life has been spent wondering why I have such bad luck.... I need to learn to accept it and stop wondering why:lol:.

Funny you say that. I thought that the whole time.... They took the cooler on their boat to empty it while I was getting frisked. The whole time I was thinking "what a waste, they don't have any ice to keep it cold!:(" On the way in my slogan was "O.P.P. drinky for free"!!! I have to figure out how to get a bathroom, kitchen, and cuddy on my boat otherwise I'm going to be a repeat offender:gaga::help:. All in all it could have been a $250.00 fine since the electric trolling motor was in the water.... I was like "Oh thank you so much for your leniency sir:rolleyes:.... enjoy my beer!" Wait a dam$ minute!!!! according to there rules THEY were in violation by taking my beer..... citizens arrest:idea:!

I thought that it was an open container that created the problem. If that is the case then the unopened cans would still be OK.

But, if you got caught with one open can then they probably figured on taking it all.

I believe you can not have beer on a boat in Canada unless you can call it your residence (stove and enclosed bathroom on board).

Consumption of Alcohol
In most provinces :

Alcohol may be consumed on board the pleasure craft if it meets all of the following conditions:

The vessel has permanent sleeping facilities
The vessel has permanent cooking facilities
The vessel has a permanent toilet
The vessel is anchored or secured alongside a dock
Check with the appropriate provincial authorities (OPP for Ontario, SQ for Quebec, RCMP for all other provinces and territories) for carriage restrictions. (http://www.tc.gc.ca/BoatingSafety/facts/foreign.htm)

I was not a very happy fisherman to say the least. And not taking beer on the boat............ That's just crazy talk right there:D. I'll work on trying to find a easier way around this than leaving the beer on land.

Mushy,
If you think I was a little nervous with the Coasty boarding, you would have thought I was going to pass out with the cops from a different Country on board:SHOCKED::tdo12::gaga:. Specially when he was playing with my (&(*%

My boss just asked me why I was laughing out loud at my desk as I TOTALLY broke a silent room. Thanks guys!!!

Quick brainstorm - put the suds in a Vernors 20oz. bottle.

There is also slip on can covers that are like a cellophane type material. Get a couple of Coca-Cola ones and you are set.

OR - Sit in the bottom of your boat and consume enough for a quick buzz - then fish. Out of sight = out of mind :evilsmile
