Absolutely gorgeous night on the river last night. Bugs weren't too bad even with the light on. Hooked into two sturgeon (lost both) and a monster sheephead. Tried cut bait and crawlers. Both sturgeon were on crawlers. Unfortunately no pictures because I was by myself. Didn't see any boats in my area, but I was gone at midnight. The second sturgeon was around 50" and I almost landed it. I am fishing off a dock as many of you know. Just as I was about to net the fish, he made one last run under the dock and wrapped around some pilings. Broke the hook off at the leader. I should've tried to take a picture while he was resting on the surface. I used the "Treeman" slip sinker setup. A lot of hardware, but very nice rig. Sturgeon were jumping everywhere taunting me of course. A lot better night than last weekend.

We were up by the ferry (along with 4 other boats, Landshark and Treeman too) We caught one 26"er. Gorgeous nite once the boaters went home. We had some jumping here and there.

Will be out on Fri and Sun. nite this next week.

Sounds like everyone had a good time. Rick nice job on the Sturgeon. Mike sounds like you did well also. Has anyone eaten those Stone Cats before? They look to be about the right size for frying up in the pan.
Again nice job guys!

Well, since I just registered for this website I cant make the pictures for easy viewing on here. You can see the 3 sturgeon and 1 walleye i caught along with the Stone Cat rick(landshark) caught. Sturgeon fishing was very fun and will do it again with a chance to go out but, anyways here is the album you can view the pics on.(just make sure you delete the space between the "h" and the "t" in the link.)

I'm glad somebody got them on Saturday. I was in the same area as Treeman and Walleye Mike. We only caught a few sheephead, suckers and white bass, which were make for terrible bait stealers.

Landshark, were you fishing relatively deep or tight to shore? If you were relatively shallow, that might have been the pattern since Dialtone was hooking them up from shore. Last year, it seemed like somewhat small depth changes made a huge difference at times. We went through streaks where the inside rod was the hot one and vice versa. Didn't seem to matter who the angler was, just that at times the fish were moving from shallow to deep and other times they were moving deep to shallow.

I hope to be out Friday and/or Sunday. Maybe I'll see you guys out there.

Tight lines,

Jeremy

What boat were you? Were you next to Pencilplugger, closer to the ferry than us?

I was in the white sport craft with the hardtop inside from where you guys set up. It was just me and my brother out there. We were just leaving the dock when I saw you trying to figure out the maize which was the boat ramp. Wow, that was the most pleasure boaters we've ever seen at that ramp!

Your not kidding about the ramp situation.

Yeah, but you can't complain about some of the "scenery" at the launch that day!

The one I saw while leaving the launch could have dropped about 40 lbs. then maybe I would have looked longer.

hey Jeremy,

all the fish I have caught this year have come in 35-40 feet of water so far this year. two weeks ago I was ancored where walleye mike was sat. night. so I place myself anywhere from where he was all the way down and a little past the ferry.

other than that I have no clue why I am having such good luck.
