Can I go on to state land and hunt crow? I realize the regular small game season is not until sept. 15th but crow is open right now. Is this legal or is this only for private land? Thanks.

You can blast crows on state land... you still need your small game license though

Unless it is a state rec area then hunting is closed from April 1st---Sept. 14th.. except for Early goose and spring turkey season...

Damn...Okay. I know where I hunt it is. Question though. Is all state land considered "State Rec. Area"?

Its almost gauranteed that private landowners will give you permission to crow hunt their land....Just give them the ol "they help spread west nile" scare.
If youve never done it though, dont get too confident. Theyre harder to hunt than any waterfowl.....much smarter and more cautious. If you get 2 in one spot, youve done well

This is the question I've never gotten an answer too. Is a raven considered a crow when the crow season is in effect?

Nope!! Ravens are protected.

The dang things are not confined to the UP any more. I heard quite a few again down here this spring while turkey hunting. They messed up more than one turkey hunt for me on the Garden peninsula for me by harassing the turkey's over the years.

I scout them like I do waterfowl.....If you can get in their flight line between roosting and feeding areas in the morning you can really beat 'em up.....my best is 14 from 1 spot using decoys and an e-caller.
