Not sure which forum this should go in.
For the guys that have hunted Antelope out there....I'm just looking for any info on hunting there, Where did you find the best info for hunting there? How do you find ranchers with land to hunt? Is it tough to find land to hunt?
I've got a million questions but really just how do you get started?
Thanks,
Ryan

Gillette/Moorecroft areas are loaded with them. Right off I-90. Id suggest those areas for a guide or ranches to check on.

I hunted just south of Cheyenne last year for deer, we bordered Colorado. The ranch we hunted had so many antleope I could not believe it. The whole area even outside the ranch was loaded with lopes.
Couple of my buddies had tags and filled them after we shot our deer.
I would say antelope are probably the easiest animal to get permisson to hunt on private land. They seem to be everywhere and the ranchers don't like it that they eat the grass that feeds the cattle.
We hunted AWA club land.

Check with Wyoming Fish and Game for license/tag info. Non-Res must draw. Some areas have much better odds than others. Research the area you think you may want to hunt BEFORE you put in for the draw. Areas with virtually guaranteed tags are most often mostly private lands with difficult access. Thanks to wealthy out of staters, most ranches charge a daily fee for access. The free access to get rid of problem prairie goats is generally reserved for family and local friends.
There is a lot of public land opportunities in Wyoming, but expect company. If you are willng to hike much further than everyone else, then you will get into antelope.
Check with the regional Fish and Game Offices, they may have some names and numbers of land owners looking to thin out some goats.
An outfitter/guide is definately not needed if you have basic hunting skills. Just read up on everything you can about them and you will do ok.
While spending time in the west someone gave me advise on antelope hunting. The advise was to find water and put yourself on the other side of the closest hill to the water. Sit and watch and you will get your antelope.

We hunted Wyoming two years ago and four of us all scored in three days. Never used a Guide but went to a camp site boardering BLM land (Wyoming is loaded with it). Our area was 240 square miles 40 miles North of I-80 and we saw 150+ Antelope a day. You can get them looking over ridges, sitting on the edge of a hill or near water. Piece of cake. You have to get on the draw and purchase your license January through March ($238.) If your drawn you are good to go, if not you get your money back July 15th. We have missed the draw last two times but will try again next year. If you are really wanting to go now they have sure thing draw for $438. Contact Wyoming DNR and get the book and it explains everything. You fill out form, select a couple hunt zones and send in money.

I went with a guide in Casper and we all shot antelope with one being 4/8 off of B&C.
I went with SNS Outfitters and they are a little more expensive but you WILL shoot a Lope.
Good Luck!!
