i was at an antique shop today with my ma and i saw a black coon pelt. they are real pretty.

Had a fur buyer that called them "fisher coon" he was saving the pelts for himself. Jim

Seen one at the fur buyers one time. Then seen one on the side of the road dead in Lapeer Co. if I remember correctly that one at the fur buyers came from the same county.

Alot of your yearling coons will be black in color, before
they mature. The one in the pic is a genuine black coon,
as no doubt is he mature. Very nice looking Coon.

As Liv4 said young coon will be dark. I had to turn around and check a road kill the other day--young coon-very dark.

We just got a nice black backed Coon back from the tannery Friday. It was almost black and weighed about 23 lbs. They sure do look nice when you get them tanned. When I caught that one last year I knew it was too nice to sell. So we sent him and a pretty cherry red off to Moyle's.
