A friend of mine called me today and was asking if I knew anything about the 2001 HOYT Havoc. He is currently looking at used bows to get back into bow hunting. I do not have a clue about it but I thought maybe somebody has shot one or knows if they are any good. He is a lefty and only intends to use it for hunting. My guess is that any HOYT would get the job done. The guy is asking $300 for everything, arrows etc. Also if any of you guys have a left handed bow that would fit his uses let me know and I can put you in touch with him. Thanks

I just put my lefty up for consignment at Adams Archery. PSE Carroll Maurauder II. It's on the rack for $200 for everything, case, release, arrows, etc. Let me know. I don't rememeber exactly everything, maybe a 97/98 model. 60-70 pounds. standard draw length. I have the book at home.

The Hoyt Havoc was a good bow from Hoyt. It is a short axle to axle bow...about 31" if I remember correctly. And it is not one of the long risor parallel limb bows like todays short bows. I tested out one in single cam when they first came out....I could not get that short bow to settle in my hands at all, yet I shoot todays short bows just fine. All has to do with risor and limb geometry imo. If he's just getting back into archery, he may want to shoot it a bit before purchasing, just my opinion. It is typical Hoyt quality though and assuming it's in nice condition should be a good bow. $300 might be pushing it price wise though but I don't know what th guy is selling with it etc.
Check out www.archerytalk.com for hundreds of used bows. They have a classified forum just for left handed bows. Check it daily.
