Yeah, I'm going. Need some more ammo and looking for a new rifle. Sometimes its worth going, sometimes not.
But this is the last show before small game, duck and such opens. All depends on what your looking for.
And its always fun to snoop around....

Worth it for me. I am on the lookout for a revolver and other misc items (dies for 7x57 mauser, mauser "sporterizer" parts, XS sights for a 45-70, among others...).
Big show, fair amount of flea market junk, but the amount of actual good stuff offsets it. Plus, not far from Midland.
Huntsman27 sets up there quite often.

I hope it's better than the previous years. I'll still go, but I've yet to find a deal there yet. The gun auction isn't too bad.

I do have some brass again this time [some 7x57 not much of that though] and about a 1/2 table of assorted brass. Might have a few guns, ammo and knives and parts. Hoping to make enough for the new duck boat and trailer [just a 12ft job]. Hope to see you there!

I have seen guys just walking around with guns over their shoulder selling them there, how do you get to do that? I have a weatherby to sell and thought about trying to sell it there. How does it work?:sad::sad:

You pay your 5 bucks or whatever to get in, you put a sign on the gun "for sale" and start walking about. As people bump into you, they will inquire what you have and what do you want for it? Dont be fooled by the "shills" walking about that are "illegal dealers" of firearms....these are the dinks that have 49 guns in their beat up mini-van and walk out side and change guns every 5 minutes trying to unload them...........love to see the ATF crown these dorks. They will try to "Trade" for your gun.........most of the trades are trash [SKS and the like].
As with any sale becareful, and NEVER take checks. Hopefully you can make a deal fitting to you. However, at this time it is a BUYERS market and trying to get a top price may be difficult.

I know your at these shows a lot, got an idea what a weatherbey accumark mark v 30 378 in excellent cond is worth used? It has a Burris signature series scope 6x24x40 with target knobs, bipod, accubrake. It was stainless but just had williams make it all black. I know what I paid but not sure how bad of a beating I should expect?

The first thing Id recommend is take off all the "extras", sling, scope, rings, bases, and sell them from the gun. Same with ammo or in your case, empty brass is valuable. Most dealers give you nothing for scopes and extras. Your better off selling them aside from the gun.
All the guns I sell at the show are "stripped".... as they come from the factory. I am not "giving" the extras to the next owner. These also make good trade bait. For instance, I have an as new Marlin 336-C and it had a Weaver 3x9, Leupold rings and base, a sling, and 3 boxes of ammo......all of the extras are for sale aside from the gun.
The best bet is price it in the Bluebook, then figure the dealer has to make something on his purchase from you...........but, again given the crap economy of Michigan....and that your gun is a high rent [quality] gun your in rare sale area as you have to find someone that likes Weatherbys and a rather expensive one at that.
Not that you cant find a buyer, just that most of your gun show attendees are bluecollar guys and anything over say 300 bucks.....gets hard to move. Theres always the chance "your" buyer may cross your path there though. Its worth a try.
