Hit the water last night at 10 and had lines in the water by 10:15. Caught a couple of sheepshead and a sucker before landing a 57 inch fish around 11:30
The exciting part was that I thought I had lost the fish and was reeling as fast as I could to catch up in case he wasn't gone. When the line tightened the fish came out of the water like a cruise missle next to my engine and landed suprisingly in the water again next to the boat. I saw him eye to eye at about 30 inches. Don't know how he missed knocking off my stern light. Would have been awsome to have a video of that. Caught a couple more sheepsheads later and finished up around 1.
Tried switching last night on one rod from the 7/0 saltwater hooks that I have been using to a smaller 4/0 circle hook. Was very impressed with the performance. Will be switching to circle hooks on all of my rods.
