The 115 isn't running that good so I cleaned the carbs, changed the plugs, and checked the timing.
The sticker on the motor says 24 deg. btc.
It's currently set at 6 deg. btc.
I looked but I could not find where to change the timing.
It's a 1975 motor.
Can any one tell how, or where the adjustment is?
Thanks.
Ken.

Your timing is probably fine ,,your are reading 6 deg at idle,, the 24deg is at full advance when you throttle up. If you put your motor in gear(NOT RUNNING) and slowly move your lever on your control box to WOT you will see the timing plate moving under the flywheel to full advance.
When you say your motor is not running good , what exactly do you mean? is it running rough at idle? Or sluggish? Or?
Timing rarely goes out of whack without help.

Thanks tonga,
I also got some advice from the forums at Iboats.com
I just wanted to check it and make sure it's set correctly.
