Hey guys my name is Steve. I live in West Michigan near the airport and I was fishing on the Thornapple river last Friday with my son who latched on to a fish while trolling with a small crankbait. I was astonished at what I saw as he pulled out a 12-1/4" BlueGill. I knew it was the biggest bluegill I had ever seen but really thought it was fairly common, perhaps.
My son did not want to keep it so I said okay let it go and he did. Well some guys here at work are not happy with that decision and tell me it should qualify for a Master Angler award? I am not sure what that is so I thought you guys might be able to help? Thanks in advance
PS
I have a picture of it I will try to load here later when I get home and yes it really was 12-1/4 inches long
