I have never heard of this stuff and am going to give it a shot, I was just wondering if you have to get it at a boat store or if the local auto parts will carry it? Also at trolling speeds i sputter a little do you guys think a can of carb cleaner would be a good idea too or is the Seafoam enough? BTW it's a 69 Johnson 20hp.

Thanks

You can get Sea-Foam at the auto parts store. I buy mine at NAPA. You can also get an aeresol can of "de-carb" that wouldn't hurt to try for a start. But I'd definitely put a can of Sea-Foam in the tank. It's good stuff!

Guys,
I use the Sea Foam religiously, but would like to pick up some Deep Creep in the aerosol to spay direct in the carb. Anyone know who carries it? I've never seen it in Murrays or Meijer where I usually find the Sea Foam.

I have used Sea Foam in every internal combustion engine I have owned in the last ten years. I love that stuff. Works fantastic.

IDIOT ALERT!!!

I've never used Seafoam before. Is is just as simple as a gas tank additive? Also, is the purpose to clean out the carb?

Thanks!

seafoam will clean the debris from carbs/EFI etc. just pour it in the fuel tank and go. on mowers etc if they are running like crap i will pour some in the tank (doesnt take but a couple cap fulls for a push mower) run it for a few minutes let it set over night and you would swear that the carb fairys came and fixed your junk while you were sleeping..(unless there is more wrong then dirt and carbon build up) ...pull the bowl and wipe it out....awesome mojo

Poor it down your brake booster hose as prescribed on the can :yikes: - no additive cleans like that - use it on everything that is gasoline powered:)

No more Stable for this guy! I've become a Seafoam user and am now a believer as well! Car, truck, Jeep, boat, snowmobile and all the yard equipment. If it runs on gas it gets Seafoam in it! As a maintenance item for the mowers and such I put couple of ounces in the five gallon can everytime I fill it. It's supposed to be a great fuel stablizer as well! :)

Yes SeaFoam will clean your carburetor. But it will also help remove carbon buildup in the combustion chamber and the valves too. It works wonders!

Just a word to the wise. Seafoam has been known to foul spark plugs and ruin O2 sensors in vehicles. It might be great for carbed vehicles, but if you are running it through your car/truck make sure that you unplug the O2s and have a fresh set of plugs handy.

I'll throw some in my jet ski which is notorious for a bad carb...

Thanks for the answers
