Proud Lake State Recreation Area Hosts River Hawk Rumble Aug. 7
Proud Lake State Recreation Area is hosting a “GO-Get Outdoors” River Hawk Rumble on Tuesday, Aug. 7, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The River Hawk Rumble is an opportunity for students in the 4th-9th grades to participate in a variety of outdoor activities designed to introduce children to outdoor recreation. The five targeted activities are fishing, canoeing, hiking, a nature program and mountain biking. Lunch will be provided.

Proud Lake State Recreation Area is located six miles north of I-96, exit 159, three miles southeast of Milford. The event is free, but all motor vehicles are required to have a Michigan State Park Motor Vehicle Permit available for purchase at the park entrance. Cost is $24 for a resident annual and $6 for a resident daily. A nonresident annual is $29 and a nonresident daily is $8.
The DNR is committed to the conservation, protection, management, use and enjoyment of the state’s natural resources for current and future generations.
