After 10 years of owning property without any problems -- I have begun having thefts and break-ins at my camp. I am looking for a cheap way to inconvenience any more thieves--I know that I cannot stop them from stealing or breaking in---If they want in they will get in.

I have about 110 feet of road frontage that I would like to block--the cabin sits close to the road and looks at it as well so I need something OK to look at or not to big/bulky. I also have to consider snow plowing that may stack 6-8 feet on top of the gate as well as pushed into it.

I need to put a driveway enterance wide enough for a trailer to get in/out easily.

Any suggestions for building materials or designs would be a great help!!!!!!!!!

I don't think you can stop it .we had a log chain they took it .put up a new steel door they took it ,alarm system they took most of it . took the raidator on the tractor .. all I can say is good luck.

10' Electric fence lol no... I would just use a chain, like previously stated, they will get in no matter what. No need to waste a lot of money and then turn around and loose more because they still get in. either that or just catch em in the act with a loaded shotgun in your hands and they might think twice again.

A hidden video system. get proactive on these scumb. find out who they are and have them removed from the area, that is the only way to handle the situation.

You probably have a group that has made itself familar with your property and now they think what is yours is theirs.

you are not alone
Lots of lighting that allows one to see from the road, I had to install a 14ft livestock gate, with the biggest and baddest chain/lock system known to man. This kept the fat, lazy scum from hauling my treasures hundreds of feet away. If they want to get in they will especially if you are a weekend worrior, but anything that exposes them and makes them work for it will help.
Good Luck

Gate is made from heavy steel tube

the plunger goes in to a large diameter steel tube, keeps the lock hidden from bolt cutters
