Anyone still whipping up in the St. Clair River, or drifting and chugging? I'm fixin' to go out whippin' t'nite. Wondering if there is any action or if the river is still really muddy.

Whipping is a form of fishing in current in the river. Anchor the boat, in the river, then tie a 3' lead off the three way with a 2oz sinker,to the line on your short stiff "whippin'" pole, tie a pencil plug, nightstalker, and rapala in series, (one off the back of the other with 5' leads) we call it "piggyback" then, drop you rline down and basically, whip the pole forward against the current, to bounce the sinker off the bottom. Then let some Line out every once in a while. It's easy and we have a lot of fun with it. Check the warm water fishing forum. there is a thread with illustrations and all, gives you a much better picture.
