Just got back from a golf outing in Gull Lake. I saw birds (alot of birds) starting at the the M14 and 275 area all the way to Parma. Saw just as many on the way home. Need to start getting some hunts lined up for Sept 1.

Does anyone hunt the Ann Arbor area ??

Is access tough ??

I feel it is my duty to help elminate some of those birds... HA HA

Yes I do indeed hunt the Ann Arbor area. I took 396 last year. It is tough for many to get a spot. Many hunters over there. And several guides that hunt near there. The good spots have been leased long ago. Most good hunting fields are the private ones and it can be tough to gain access. I'm lucky to have several farms that I hunt. Getting harder every year with all the building going on. Most huntable birds get hunted over on that side of the state. Many stay to the safety of the local parks and golf courses.

Deadbird, I saw what you are talking about this week. I took a trip to the farms I hunt. You did indeed see plenty of birds. Everywhere I looked/scouted I saw birds. It looks like we will have a great time this fall. Cant say how many I saw but it was a lot of ducks and geese. They sat on all the ponds that I looked at. The southeastern section of the state will be hot for the waterfowl hunters again this fall. I cant say that there is any shortage of birds around my home in southwestern Michigan either. What we need is better dates for the season and it will be one of the best. We will see what the reg's are next month.
