Does it hurt a Charger or any of your batteries if you wire them to a trolling motor battery and to your starting battery if you have a two bank charger annd two batteries? Just curious before I buy one.
Thanks,
Kim

It won't hurt a thing.
I have a 2 bank charger on my boat.
Depending on the brand / model you get, read the instructions.
They usually designate which leads go to starting battery and which go to the trolling battery.

It will not hurt your charger. The reason to have a two bank charger is so you CAN charge two batteries... I personally have three batteries being charged by a two bank charger. It's a Minn Kota charger, and after some investigating I found that I can charge three batteries at the same time as long as two of them are the same (both deep cycles or both starting type) and they are wired in parallel (or is it in series... It's late) so that I'm still only charging a 12 volt system.

(and the EASY way to remember)
Parallel = Plus & Plus together (P-P)
Series = Plus to Negative to Plus ... Serial ~ "like in order" , if you pour a bowl of Cheerios they come out of the box one right after the other...in CEREAL....
:cwm27:
I mean Serial........series... YaKnow???
