Well I headed to one of my favorite stretches of river today and did pretty darn well! Started @ 8am and started stripping streamers, landed a decent number of Browns (8-12") and a a few steelhead smolt.
Around 9am or so the Caddis started to explode all around my buddies and myself!!!Not long after the fish started rising...Buddies and myself all landed many steelhead smolt and I got another chunky brown! THe largest of the smolt was around 13-14"
Anyway the highlight of the day other than the caddis hatch happened right around 3pm when I found an active steelhead redd! One of my buddies went first and hit a super aggresive buck on his 5wt then we let things settle down then I went back a little while later and whacked a second aggressive buck on my 4wt and pheasant tail nymph! Talk about FUN, even though those fish were beat up they still both moved several feet to bite and kicked our arses!!!!
Well I think I wrote enough of a book today!! tommarow I will hit the "Marsh Carp" but I don't think it will compare to the day I just had!!!!
