Kicker Motor mount

So, here's my deal: I have a short shaft kicker that I want to mount on my boat. And I also have a long transom. So what I was wondering was is there any way to mount this motor on there without using a motor mount that drops the motor in the water. I want to upgrade to a long shaft next year (my kicker is an old sea king), so i don't want to drop too much money on making this one work. I have a jacker plate already and was kind of thinking of just maybe using some 2 x 4's to get it away from the transom and mounting it lower on on the transom, but I am a little worried that will look crappy, so I figured I'd run it by you guys and gals here and see what kind of brilliant and insiteful wisdom I could acquire!:lol:

Dont forget to add a safty cable for the motor for your temp fix.
Wood is not a good solution to any type of fix on a boat motor, the safty cable will come in handy when it fails.

I know this is not what you wanted but I figured I would post it anyways because I got such a good deal on this short shaft motor I had to use the bracket and I have been real happy with the bracket.. Cya Slick

I was only thinking about using the wood to get the jacker plate away from the boat. Like a washer, so to speak, where the bolts go through.

I'm still not sure what to do, I'll probably just end up using what Slick was talking about, in fact I have bid on a couple on ebay (lost). Then maybe I'll just buy a newer shorty instead of a long shaft next summer.
