First time out this year in Erie. Started by the detroit light. We got junk fish and a nice smallie. Went then to the ding dong buoy and caught 4 plus a ton of junk fish. Fished by stoney point and got the rest of our 2 man limit. We released 4 and lost about 6. Got 1 on a blue berry muffin spoon on a dipsy. Could not get 1 fish on a crank bait. Started pulling crawlers on harnesses and got therest on them. By far the best color was purple but got 1 on chartreuse and 1 on black. 20-24 fow. A beauty of a day. :coolgleam

We fished Erie today. Started by the Ding-Dong Bouy. Tons of Weeds. Moved East into Can. More weeds and not marking much. Moved to Stony Point area, 25-27 FOW, still more weeds. Caught 3 walleyes on BB and harnesses. Talked to a guy at the ramp that caught 22 in 19-20 FOW right out in front of Sterling on BB and harnesses. Oh well, I guess I didn't need to run all that way. I ran right past them.

Had to clean the lines every few minutes every where I was today.

Did you see the other part? I went out too far. The guys that fished in 19-20 FOW caught 22 and had no weed issues.

I also started at the bell and had enough when I went by a patch about the size of a football field. Pulled and ran 3 miles east of sputnick. A lot of boats but not alot of fish. Ended with 5 fish 1 going 4.5 lbs. started getting to hot.

Slimshady-

Ya did'nt mention they were free of weeds though.

This time of year, you just never know which area is gunna be choked out with weeds till ya get there. Last week, Sterling looked like somebody mowed their lawn and Stoney point was clean.:dizzy:
But Trenton channel south to the bell bouy has been a consistant weed fest for quite a while now.
Take care

Went to G-Can on the border and pulled 15 nice fish from 6pm.-9:30pm. All came on Reef Runners. Purple Prizm, and Green Perch took the majority. Leads were 125,100,90, at 2.2gps. Lost more fish yesterday than I have the last 3 years. Not sure what that was all about, but guy's at Wild Wings were complaining about the same problem.
