I'am wondering where to fish in Tawas Bay? I have never fished there before. Any help or hazard info is greatly appreciated.

Fished up there on June 27th. We only went out for a shakedown cruise. Out around Tawas point there is a red can. 30 feet of water. Picked up one 5-6 pounder.

Went down to Augres the next day and got 9.

Worth the drive.

We started at Tawas and spent a long day heading south from there, didn't reallly get into any fish of size until we got even south of Alabaster and then didn't get quantity until we hit the Augres area. I'd think that if you are wanting to catch some fish...head to AuGres.

Surprised I didn't see you out there jbigarow, I made the same trip, and had the same results. There seems to be some decent fish from the south green can to the 30 foot humps. We got a few 5's and a 7 closer to the humps. All the big fish were caught on bottom bouncers. Chartruce beads with orange #6 blades.

Au gres is the best bet right now for good fish, and numbers.
