Do a search, there is alot of threads on this subject. If your looking for your first, make sure you have all the right equipment to help safely release the fish when you catch it.

Trolling the edges of the shipping channel is good this time of year. Good luck.

Went out for eyes on Monday and Friday this week...both days we caught
muskie without trying...we get them on crawler harnesses dragging a
yellow/silver spec split tail or chartruse split tail (4 tails) Monday we had three on and boarded a 40 inch and Friday we had one about 30 inch...

We fish along the channel on the Canadian side due East of 9 & 10 mile.
We are fishing in American waters --- on Friday, other boats were reporting
that muskies were on the surface sunnin themselves and you could see their
fins...personally, I find them to be a pain, but I catch them and put them back. The lake is full of skies, maybe to many---they eat eyes and that ain't good.... I hear the ski charters on channel 80 workin to catch them, they seem to be gettin real successful lately....try listen

The most common fish found in their stomachs are suckers and sheepshead rarely walleyes But even when there is this is all part of natures balance

Going to try later in the week after work. Going on a charter 7-20 maybe i will learn some stuff and a few hot spots? Thanks again Mark

I dont think I will ever see the stomach of a ski. I have a lot of respect for them. I have only boated one muskie and that was in Indiana. The people on my boat were like kids who just saw a puppy. "Awww lets keep it" NOPE right back in the water it went.

Caught one while whipping during the week of the 4th in the SCR
tore the 2 back trebles right off of the plug. It was a great fight on my 3 foot whipping rod. 12lb test mono, I had to really work my drag and wear him out.

If it was held up by a boga-grip on the lower jaw, mounting it was probably the best thing to do...

The scale they used only went to 25 pounds. So they cut the fish in half and then weighed both chucks....... Guess they slapped some 3M 5200 on it and she swam away just fine right after.
