first schnieds, now bert, 2 years somethng like 4 mill... of all teams, the god dang ducks:rant: he played this town like a fiddle. oh yeah i love it here, i want to stay wa wa wa... i hope they make amove on foreskin now, the wings are not doing anything to get more grit like they claim they would and know they should. im kinda low riht now:(
Bert is old & injury prone. He's not worth $4mill and I'm excited we didnt throw that money at him.

Replacing Teemu and Nieds with Schneider and Bert no thanks.
Bert is a gamble and I would have liked him to stay next year, but like I mentioned in the other thread we were only willing to give him 3.25 mil. He's thinking more money, fun in the sun, and a legit shot at the Stanley cup. Can't say I blame him.

what ever, i mean im not that upset over it, im just flippin pissed that the a hole claimed he loved it here and wanted to saty. and im pissed that the wings are loosing grit when they need to be building it. i wouldnt have given him more than 3 mill a year... and then kenny signs two no namers today:rolleyes: i just dont get it.

Both those guys will be playing in Grand Rapids, which also has to field a team you know.
The Wings don't have money to throw around. If Hasek signs for say, $2.5 million, then the Wings only have like $4 million left to sign Hudler and another top-6 forward.
So Neil, are Bertuzzi and Schneider the new Shanahans, or is he still enemy #1?
We got to the 3rd round. When will it ever show that a team doesnt need grit to win? We dominated two of the "grittiest" teams in the league and the Ducks series could have went either way, easily.
Bert wasnt a major contributor to any of those series.

it's not "ok" with me, but that's your opinion, you're entitled to it.
I just don't get it. Shanny didn't "get greedy", he just moved on at the right time, to a place he has always wanted to play. Besides that, he's down way more than Schneider or Bert ever combined to do for Detroit. If not for Shanahan, the Wings don't win the Cup in 97 and probably not in 98, I just don't get your irrational hatred for the guy.

lol like i said, i wont exactly be welcomeing him w/ open arms, but im not gunna piss and moan about it eaither... you cant deny a good solid stick, no matter how much u hold a grudge against him.
How is someone greedy if the Red Wings offered Shanny the same(or higher) contract and he wanted to go to NY? Everyone in the NHL isnt taking a paycut to come to the Red Wings. If they get offered a higher contract, they're not "greedy".
