For 35 years I have dreamned of moving to the 40 acres in the UP. The property came from my Grandpa, and ended up being occupied by my Aunt and Uncle, they had no kids. It always was to be my 2 brothers and mine. It was bought for that purpose. We all had plans to build our cabins there, retire . I have designed mine for years. Dreamed , you know. Somehow it appears that a neighbor down the road now has control over it. My brothers name is off the deed, and our almost 90 Aunt with parkinsons is living with the neighbor and his wife. The guy is UP law enforcement and has always wanted the property. I have withheld specifics as the brothers are worried about backwoods law. I would like to find property there again, but this properrty was around before the wife was, if you know what I mean

That seams odd, because your brother should be the only one who can take his name off that deed if the grandparents have past.

If you fail to plan then you are planing to fail. You need to get these things done early
I would say if it means that much to you get a lawyer and find out what happened. If she has lost her mind the act maybe challeged on that fact.
Botom line is this: People can do what they want with their property.
Talk to mom & dad or aunt & uncle befor it is too late. Getr the deal done now!

I person ly would want to know what has transpired. I agree look into the matter now. as you do not know the circumstances and this is not a good business practice.

IF the grandparents left the property to his parents / uncle&aunt, there names would be on the deed.
It would be up to the parents to leave it in their will as to where their share would go, if not the uncle would have his say in where it goes.
I am wondering now if any one else had their name on the deed ?
Too many holes in this story.
