WALLEYE MIKE
06-30-2007, 08:17 PM
Today I had Nosepicker, his Dad and business partner and his step dad who wanted to fish for ba ba ba ba ba ... smallmouth. So I took a day off from fishing for walleyes. We caught 3 3'lbers, a couple of 2-2.5 lbers and numerous fish 12"or less. Did however get one 13.5" wally. Total catch was about 20 fish.I guess. Biggest fish came from a rocky area I found. We seemed to get most fish there by drifting over it a few times. Most fish came on tubes, a couple on crawlers and minnows. Beautiful for a morning of fishing. Water was crystal clear at 12-13 FOW. Slight wind to drift with and no bugs. First time in a long time I fished strictly for ba ba ba ba ba ....smallmouth.

Joe, Andy, Tom and Gino, had a very nice time with you guys. (Joe has pic's on his camera)

Mike,

It seemed like it was just enough action to keep it interesting. I tried all over the place in a wide variety of conditions, but found the very much on the rocks. I thought that a goby imitator (tube) would work, but couldn't get a hit on it. The white x-rap with an oirange belly was best. Was kinda nice to get off the walleye trail for a morning.
