HELLO anglers just have a couple questions regarding whipping in st.clair river. When tying pencil plugs piggy back style do you put the cross lock snaps on the front of the plugs or the back? Should I use the snaps with bearings on them? Also what size plugs and rapalas are you guys using? One more question, I have a short whipping rod should I whip the rod up and down or from 3 to 9 o'clock? Thanks alot for the replys, I really get into walleye fishing and I'm inexperienced with no one to teach me the ways.:)

Thanks Slick but that only answers 1 question, that would be that I put the snaps on the front of the plugs and rapala, how about everything else?

i make my leaders 6 feet long with a wire snaps on both ends, i do not use swivels except maybe where the first leader attaches to the 3 way. use the smallest wire snap that you feel comfortable with. hope that helps.
