Magic Number is now 87.
Any combination of Detroit Wins and Cleveland losses will result in Clevelands Mathematical elimination from the race!

That's more math than I care to do right now, since the calendar does still read June. But I think there may still be room for Cleveland in the playoffs - as a Wild Card. In fact, I'm still hearing baseball talking-heads, as late as last week, counting the Tigers as the odd-team out in the AL - remember, the Yankees are only 11.5 games out... and in 3rd place! And I think the A's may still have a player or two who isn't on the DL!

The only number I care about in baseball right now is 756, and hoping that Barry Bonds tears and ACL before reaching the milestone.

ABSOLUTELY DITTO!!!!
Actually, I would like to see Bud Selig go out to watch Barry Bonds while he was attempting to hit number 756--and for them to fall and trip over each other walking into the park---permanently knocking them both out of the world of baseball. And freeing us of all this not addressing the steroid issue.

That'd be great!
But thinking about it more, I think once he reaches 755 every MLB pitcher should make a pact to always walk him-no matter what. Yeah, it'd be convienent for the Giants for a while, but eventually the need for RBI's would arise and he would fade into oblivion taking only the BB record. :D
