--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I already posted this on the Taxiderm Forum, but for those that don't make it over there I will ask the same question here. I'm looking to get a nice-sized bluegill mounted. What is the going rate per inch these days? Would there be much difference in pricing in a wall-mount as supposed to a mount that sits on your desk? I live in Holland and am interested in finding a good taxidermist from Grand Rapids or the surrounding area. I tried a Google search for web-sites and didn't come up with much.

Thanks,

Mark Heidema-Holland. :fish:

For a quality mount you'll be looking at $12.00 an inch or so. Speak with the Taxi you choose and discuss the details you desire, they'll give you the final tally.

I've had work done by "DZ Taxidermy" off this site. He now lives in Wyoming I believe, but overnight with proper packaging is no big deal through the mail.

Here is Dans' new email addy, give him a shout. Tell him "Whale" sent ya. :D

Hey Mark,

I use Dick Vandervest at Duck Lake taxidermy in Muskegon. He is reasonably priced, I think around $7 an inch, and does great work. I know quite a few guy's here in Holland that have taken there fish to him. A buddy just brought a 5# brook trout in that Dick did an unbelievable job on. He is mounting a walleye for me right now.

Arnsons Taxidermy in Muskegon does an excellent job. Last I knew Brent charged $10.00 per inch. You would not regret taking your fish to him. his phone number is (231) 744-8374.

"Back to life" taxi in Hastings has some really good prices. Shawns done a Master Angler gill and a spec for me and they turned out very nice and was the lowest price around. (269) 838-1611

Brenners in Comstock Park charged me $8 an inch for a walleye. Not a bad job, I definitely seen worse.
