I have never heard of anyone ever getting crappie on Hubbard. But then, I haven't been able to catch much of anything on Hubbard. I will be keeping an eye on this post.

I've fished Hubbard for quite a few years - soft and hard water, never heard of or seen a crappie caught, though I mainly targe walleye in the summer and walleye/perch in the winter. The hatch should be about done, so the walleye bite should be getting better. Eastbay Ed can probably tell you if there's any crappie in the lake.

I haven't been up either - but the hatch has to be over by now.

Never heard of Specs there. The 'eyes are hitting more or less dawn, dusk or darker, and the smallies are taking lindy rigs w/worms or leeches along the rocks. (please let the big ones go) Good luck, it's a sweet lake to fish with many great spots, we've dove there many times and there is some sweet structure, if you know where to look.
I should be fishing,
Pete

I agree with foote, I've never heard of specs in the lake. Panfish are few and far between in that lake, I don't even think I've ever seen a bluegill. Flies were still bad according to my mom this weekend.

I havent caught alot of fish that people claim to be in the lake. I caught my first largemouth in 24 yrs of being up there in May. I once saw the DNR put the nets out in front of my cottage for a study. I couldnt believe the fish they pulled out. There were a ton of Suckers.

I would be geeked about a possible tourney, cept I'm not sure I'll be able to make it up - just started a new job a week ago. I'll probably be up for the weekends on either side, but doubt I can hang much through the week.:(
