Anybody else concerned or at least curious as to why his first start of the season will be in a National League park that will require him to bat?
Seems like you wouldn't want him to do any more than neccesary in the first couple of starts.

I am not concerned. I dont think Leyland would compromise the shoulder so this tells me the shoulder is in really good shape. Plus Leyland has come right out and said that at time he directs the pitchers to go to the plate and not even swing. With the Tigers offense I expect Kenny to stand in the batters box like the house on the side of the road.

What Leyland says and what Kenny does are two different things.

That's what I figure, too. Would have been nice to see him against the Nats instead of the Braves, though.
Still, I wish he was starting Saturday - It will be my first Tigers game since the first year of Comerica and would have been cool to see his first start of the season. Oh well, have to watch Verlander instead! Crossing the 6th MLB park off my list.
