Wifey and I will be staying in Curtis the week after the fourth.Any tips on where to fish for walleye and perch?I have some friends in Newberry but you know how fishing friends like to tell the stories of what they catch!LOL
I have all the tackle but where on the lake is the most productive? It is a big lake with alot of shallow water

Thanks,

I fished it last summer, had great luck with perch - lousy luck for walleye and pike. Focused mostly in about 5' to 6' water in the s/w corner of the lake. Due north of the boat ramp in Cooks bay to be exact. I used crawlers and leeches - didnt seem to matter, though the leeches lasted longer. BE CAREFUL - that lake can blow up quickly!!!! Its big and shallow and gets rough in heartbeat.

I fished that lake a good number of years back, may be 10. We had good luck on the eye,s by slow trolling and drifting the deeper waters with bottom bouncers rigged with floating harneses with leaches. I found that a large black plastic worm worked just as well as the live leaches. We also trolled at just a crawl. We also picked up a few small pike that way also.Good luck. PS the evening bite seemed to be the best and also we concentrated in the cental part of the lake.
