gentlemen

Has anybody heard or experienced how high the ausable, s. branch, n. branch and big creek are after the recent rain we have had wednesday, last night, and this morning. In the last three days I have had over 4 1/2 inches of rain according to my back yard rain gauge.

You can check the flows on the site. Steve added a USGS link just above NE Rivers

Shoeman, or anyone

Can you give me a quick lesson on how to understand their site. If I read (gauge height) it right the ausable near lurzerne raised only a 1/4 of a inch. I can't be reading that right. Looking at the radar this week it appeared they got hammered up north.

Thanks alot

The way I read it, it came up .17feet, which equals about 2"

Fished the Ausable the past two days mostly on the South Branch. the water is up and still rising but it is fishing very well with streamers. As far as dry fly fishing forget about it cause nothing is happening right now. You have about 3 feet of visibility.
Caddis are going nuts but thats about the only thing hatching on the South besides a couple Sulphers.

Was up there thurs-fri. Main branch a bit high and stained, but fished well with streamers. North Branch was pure mud on friday--didn't bother with it. Cadddis hatching, but nothing of size rising. In the evening, I did find some respectable fish interested in big, bushy attractor patters. Tons of spinners in the air @9:30, but none coming down.
