We went up to the Ausable to fish one of our fav tribs. Only fished for an hour, because my family wanted to do some more non-fishing stuff, but will fish more tommorow. Caught some beautiful native brookies, ranging up to 14". I saw some 20+ inchers in the hole, so i hope to land one before the week is done. All caught on a bead head fly.

Nice job on the fish Frog! Great pics and a sweet cast. My mouth is watering looking at that river. I'll be living the dream come Thursday. :D

Next year I better plan a week earlier for the hex flies:rant:

Why not just say you went to Wisconsin?

I spend half my fishing time there...its a wonderful place, no need to conceal it... ...confused on the mis-direction.

This is exactly the reason why people shouldn't run to a spot due to a report. You never know who the liars are out there. Get out and fish for yourselves and find the spots through information other than the internet posters, like its been done for years. This may seem to harsh, but in my opinion I think the poster should be banned for awhile to show this site is for sportspeople to help one another, and exchange information and techniques with others, and anyone who wants to play games should go to another site. If it hadn't been brought out by another member, I highly doubt the poster would have admitted to it. Sorry for venting, just don't care for unethical liars in this world. Just my $.02

He seems chastened, and might understand fishing ethics a little better. Those certainly are some nice Specks in the pics, regardless of who caught them, or where. I am sure he will be flamed and ridiculed if he posts much more. Credibility means a lot to me, and to most people.

I used to fish the Ausable and some tribs a lot when I was younger. I never saw pools which were stacked with Brookies, and never saw a 20" Brook Trout, either. Not that they might not exist, but I never found them. But I found enough Trouties to keep me entertained, and that is really what it is all about, right?

My Father taught me at an early age that if I just tell the truth about things, that I will never have to work hard to remember what I told any particular person. I vaguely remember having that lesson handed to me (and not always with a gentle hand) a couple specific times growing up, and now I get accused of being brutally honest a lot. I can live with that.
